Both the purchase code and the printed receipt will be accepted as evidence of the purchase for 45 days and must be possessed while hunting waterfowl and coots. The federal duck stamp does not have to be attached to the hunting license. All waterfowl hunters are urged to report bird bands to the U. Band information is used in the management of waterfowl populations and assists biologists in providing optimum hunting opportunities. No person or business shall receive or have in custody any migratory game birds belonging to another person unless such birds are properly tagged.
