Key program in worcester massachusetts

Pros none. Cons staff are fake and aggressive staff. March 1, Thank you for your comments on working at the Key Program. Without more specific information, it is difficult to respond to your comments. All staff are certified through the Crisis Prevention Institute in verbal crisis intervention and non-violent physical restraint intervention.

Key is a learning agency that provides hundreds of training hours to our staff. We wish you well in your future endeavors. If a staff calls out you get mandated to stay which is ridiculous because you cant balance your life outside of work.

Pros None. Cons No breaks, mandate you to stay if someone calls out, spending your own money on clients, using gas in your own car. Yes There are 2 helpful reviews 2 No. I'm sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience at the Key Program.

I would like to address you comments. Staff are encouraged to take breaks for self-care and it is required to document breaks on time cards. Programs are to remain in ratio of 3 clients to 1 staff or 4 clients to 1 staff.

In the event a staff calls out sick, no staff is "mandated" to work an extra shift, they are "asked" if they will work an extra shift and if not, they will seek someone else or an on-call staff will work the shift. If any direct care staff works beyond 40 hours, they are paid time and a half.

Supervisors hold a petty cash for program or client expenses. Staff are also paid. The staff would also submitted their mileage log with their voucher for reimbursement for gas. Key has followed the most up to date guidance handed down by the CDC from the very start of the pandemic.

Key follows all guidance to maintain the safety of our clients, their families, our own staff and families without compromising the best care and treatment for our youth. Visitation for clients and family members have been suspended.

All visitors must sign in and out of the program after entering and washing their hands. Hard work that is incredibly fulfilling. This job is not for the faint of heart. If you love people and working long hard hours, this may be for you. Be prepared to be hyper-vigalant for 9 hour to 16 hour shifts staff only do breaks for the 16 hour shift ; be prepared to go to work especially on tough days where you would want to call out; be prepared to go hands-on with escalated children; And be prepared to work 52 hour weeks at minimum.

Due to the nature of a residential home, staff get overworked. There's a lot of "holes" in the schedule that people will pick up. If they are not picked up, then staff that day must go off ratio. This is problematic because the normal can be tough at times never mind or more. To avoid this a lot of staff pick up those holes, but end up over-tired and are more of a problem than a help.

The lack of staffing causes a ripple through the program that hurts everyone involved including the clients. This issue is well known among the staff and we're are constantly told that administration is doing their best. If this is the case, then it is not as transparent as I would like it to be. At the end of the day I love this job, the staff and clients with my whole heart. Pros Overtime pay, rewarding, on-board trainings. Cons Not guaranteed lunch breaks due to staffing issues, feels robotic at times.

Thank you for your heartfelt comments. The pandemic has created so many staffing issues across every industry and Key is no different.
